releasing the arrested demonstrator of Friday today or tomorrow
Baghdad (NINA) – Baghdad Operations Command announced that the four detainees arrested by the security forces on the Friday demonstrations of May 27, 2011, will be released today or tomorrow, once the legal procedures finish.
Spokesman of the Baghdad Operations Command, General Qasim Atta, told NINA “the four detainees were arrested upon judicial procedures, not security procedures, as some tried to circulate.”
He added that “we have contacts with the detainees’ families. The detainees enjoy good health and were treated well; they are waiting to be bailed.”
One of the detainees, Muayad Al Tayib, told NINA on Saturday that “the security forces arrested us for suspecting our IDs.”
He added “we are well treated by the security forces, now we are waiting for the finish of the legal procedures to bail us out, hopefully it will end today or tomorrow.”
Arguments were raised about the arrest of four demonstrators on the Friday before the last, it was said that they were taken in an ambulance.
The Iraqiya Slate held the General Commander of the Armed Forces responsible for the four young men’s safety, saying that “unknown security forces abducted the demonstrators using governmental ambulances.”
