Meeting of the two main Kurdish parties with opposition parties starts in Erbil

Erbil (NINA) - The meeting of the two main Kurdish parties; Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and Kurdish Democratic Party with the three opposition parties; Taghier (Change), the Islamic Union, and the Islamic Group started before noon Saturday.


An informed source said the meeting aims to find common ground to resolve the outstanding problems in the region.


Opposition parties accuse the PUK and KDP of unilateral ruling of the region and marginalizing the others.


The Sulaymaniya and other Kurdish towns witnessed protests and sit-ins that lasted for several months to press for reforms in Kurdistan. /End/
