Doha Trade Fair 2011 Opens to Public
Doha, June 04 (QNA) - The new, exclusive edition of the 2011 Doha Trade Fair opened to the public today at Doha Exhibition Centre. The Fair is organized by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) and Qatar Media Services (q.media) over an area of 15 thousand square metres
The Doha Trade Fair will offer a premium shopping experience for all visitors. More than 550 renowned exhibitors from 31 different countries will be showcasing and selling the latest exclusive and traditional products from around the globe.
Deputy Board Chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mohamed bin Tuwar Al-Kuwari said after the inauguration of the Fair, organized under the theme "Shop the World", that the Fair will offer commodities for families of all levels and will be an opportunity for shopping and entertainment, saying this year's edition of the Fair is distinguished by the variety of the participating companies and the exhibited commodities.
Participating countries include Bangladesh, Canada, China, Egypt, France, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Italy, Jordan, Kenya, Korea, KSA, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Philippines, Qatar, Singapore, Syria, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, UAE, the United States, Yemen and Zimbabwe. Families and children will enjoy the exciting entertainment in the specially built Fun Zone which will feature activities from inflatable rides to fun games to daily parades.
A main highlight of the 2011 Doha Trade Fair is the attempt to beat the current world record, for the largest board game, MONOPOLY. Q.media events will attempt to set the new world record after completing a fun-filled, life-size game of MONOPOLY that will kick off with a roll of the dice from 4pm onwards in the Fun Zone .
After the attempt at breaking the world record, the board game will be open to active Facebook fans to try their expertise at becoming the ultimate property landlord. A thrilling series of MONOPOLY games will be held from June 5 through June 13. Teams of two will compete against each other on the exclusive MONOPOLY board to gain as many MONOPOLY points as possible. The team with the most points at the end of the competition will win the grand prize: a brand new car.
The ten-day event, is held under the patronage of H.E Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Bin Mohammed Al-Thani, Chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry (QCCI).

The 2011 Doha Trade Fair will run from June 4 to June 13. Opening times are from 10.00am until 10.00pm daily and on Friday from 2.00pm until 10.00pm. Entry is free.(QNA)
