Qatar to Participate in the Muslim Ummah Scholars Conference
Doha, June 05 (QNA) - Qatar will take part in the Conference of the Muslim Ummah Scholars, due to kick off in Dakar on Monday with participation of a number of Islamic affairs ministers and scholars from Arab and Islamic countries.
HE Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr. Ghaith bin Mubarak al-Kuwari will head Qatar's delegation to the conference.
The three-day conference aims at highlighting the status of scholars and their contributions to uniting the Muslim Ummah, addressing its major problems and countering attempts to disrupt its religious, intellectual, political and social stability.
The conference will seek to underline the need for devoting attention to authentic knowledge, learning from scholars, encouraging cooperation among scholars, and prompting the Muslim Ummah to draw lessons from its history. It is also aimed to underscore the importance of the international, Islamic, local and scientific institutes in leading the Ummah, addressing its crucial issues, and preserving religion and its role in the unity, strength and glory of the Ummah.
Moreover, the conference is aimed at highlighting the necessity of developing the religious universities and faculties and Islamic schools, orienting publication and scientific research towards the causes of the Ummah, and using media to accomplish the scholar s mission.
HE the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and his accompanying delegation headed to the Senegalese Capital last night to take part in the conference. (QNA)
