Health Development Commitment Pushes Qatar to Forefront
Doha, June 05 (QNA) - Qatar's political commitment to health and educational improvement has helped it advance to the forefront among distinct countries in the World Health Organization's members.
Speaking to QNA , Dr Suzan Farhood, who is in charge of Qatar affairs at the the Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean of WHO commended the clear vision of the officials in Qatar to develop the level of all health services provided to Qatari citizens and expatraites.
She said that equal health services were being provided to both citizens and expatriates.
She also noted that her current visit to Qatar was targeting cementing coordination between the Regional Office of WHO and the Supreme Council for Health in Qatar as well as following up
health projects implemented by the Council and other health institutions in the country.
Qatar, she said, has the potential human and health services and was playing an important role the field of medical research, especially at the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, which is positioned to be a regional center in the field of medical research.
She referred to many health projects and plans being carried out in the country, including
the plan launched a week ago: the National Strategy for Cancer Control, which ensures a clear programme to move towards the development of health services and responding to the needs of the state. (QNA)
