Israel’s military threat against Iran is old hat: MP

TEHRAN, June 6 (MNA) – A member of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee says Israel’s military threat against Iran is old hat.

“Militarily threatening Iran is an expired strategy of Israel,” Ali Aghazadeh Dafasai told the Mehr News Agency.

Moshe Yalon, the Israeli minister of strategic affairs, in a recent speech sought to persuade the international community to launch an attack on Iran in order to halt its peaceful nuclear activities.

Aghazadeh Dafasai said the idea to launch an attack on Iran has arisen out of Israeli officials’ brutal and barbaric line of thought.

Such threats are aimed at diverting public attention away from Israel’s crimes and directing it to Iran’s nuclear activities and promoting Iranophobia in the region and the world, he noted.

Israeli officials use every opportunity to act against Iran, he said, adding they, for example, lobby the ruling party in the U.S. and certain European countries to say that Iran is posing a threat against the region and the whole world.

Aghazadeh Dafasai went on to say that Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful and the signing of the NPT by Iran is a clear indication of this.
