TEHRAN, June 6 (MNA) -- Mevlana Museum Deputy Director Naci Bakirci reports that 10,000 Iranians visited the museum in Konya, home to the shrine of the Iranian mystic and poet Molana Jalal ad-Din Rumi (1207-1273).
Over 1,850,000 visitors came to visit the museum and the shrine among which 10,000 were Iranians, Bakirci told the Persian service of Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) in West Azerbaijan on Sunday.
The museum is home to 4,000 different types of manuscripts, out of which 3,000 belong to Rumi, he said.
The Mevlana Museum, also known as the Green Mausoleum or Green Dome, contains the tomb and shrine of Rumi.
Tour guides speaking eight different languages are also available in the museum, he said.
He added that love of and affection towards Rumi is growing in the world every day.
