Doosan Heavy wins 304 bln won power equipment order
SEOUL (Yonhap) - Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co., South Korea's leading power equipment maker, said Tuesday that it has won a 304 billion won (US$281 million) order to supply power plant equipment for a South Korean construction firm.
Under the deal with Hanwha Engineering & Construction Corp., Doosan Heavy will supply the equipment, including gas turbines, by the end of 2013, the company said.
Hanwha Engineering signed a $1.05 billion deal in April this year to build a power station and desalination plant in western Saudi Arabia.
Under the deal with Marafiq, a Saudi Arabian power and water utility company, Hanwha Engineering will complete the plants by 2014.
Shares of Doosan Heavy were trading at 56,800 won on the Seoul bourse as of 10:23 a.m., up 1.07 percent.
