Tehran, Ashkhabad enjoy favorable relations: Turkmen president
TEHRAN, June 7 (MNA) -- The Turkmen president has described the level of relations between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran as “favorable”.
Kurbanguly Berdymukhamedov made the remarks during a meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Middle Eastern Affairs Mohammadreza Sheibani in Ashkhabad on Monday.
During the meeting, Sheibani and Berdymukhamedov explored ways to further increase relations between Tehran and Ashkhabad and emphasized that the two countries should make every effort to utilize their untapped potential to cement bilateral ties.
They also discussed the latest developments taking place in the region.
The Turkmen president stated that Tehran and Ashkhabad have many affinities and should strengthen their relations.
The Iranian official said that the Islamic Republic attaches great significance to its relations with Turkmenistan.
In addition, Sheibani submitted the message of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to the Turkmen leader.
