BALI GOVERNOR WELCOMES FRENCH RED CROSS ASSISTANCE FOR DISASTER MANAGEMENT
Denpasar, Sept 9 (ANTARA) - Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika has welcomed French Red Cross assistance for disaster management and the construction of a Disaster Management Operational Control Center (Pusdalops PB) in Bali.
"The assistance is expected to increase the number of tourists visiting Bali and the image of the province in international eyes," the governor said when receiving Oliver Brault, a French Red Cross officials, here on Tuesday.
Governor Mangku Pastika expressed hope that the existence of Pusdalops PB in Bali would make the local people and holiday makers feel comfortable and safe.
Therefore, he said, Pusdalops PB should be operated properly by capable and trustworthy people.
The governor added the Bali provincial administration and French Red Cross had signed a cooperation agreement on natural disaster management and construction of the Pusdalops PB building.
In the agreement, the French Red Cross would help in the construction of the center and in disaster management.
He said the two-story building would be erected at Niti Mandala Renon resort in Denpasar.
