Qatar's Organizes INFDEX 2011 Next October
Doha, June 07 (QNA)- Doha will host the International Furniture and Design Exhibition and Awards (INFDEX) 2011, Qatar s biggest interior design and furniture event of the year, for the tenth year at the Doha Exhibition Center on October 5th to the 8th,2011.
Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Expo Karim Zarka, said that this year s event will again be managed by Qatar Expo Event Management in partnership with Messe Frankfurt, the largest global exhibition management group. This is the second year that both Qatar Expo and Messe Frankfurt co-manage INFDEX.
"INFDEX has become an important part of the Qatari events climate," he said adding, "Owing to the tremendous success of last year s event, we are again partnering with Messe Frankfurt to ensure an even better and larger exhibit this year."
As of today, well over 50% of space has been sold, with 60% going to foreign participants, including exhibitors from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia,UAE, Egypt and Morocco. Both Turkish and Italian have far booked 240 and 200 square meters of space respectively for their international pavilions. The remaining space will be for local exhibitors, with forecasts so far showing that this event will be even bigger than 2010, he said.
Elaborating Zarka said, "Due to His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani s vision and permanent care and the tireless efforts made by the Qatari Government headed by His Excellency Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabr Al Thani, Qatar won the honor to host World Cup 2022, and strengthened its presence and position in the rank of advanced countries. As a result, all the economic sectors are experiencing dynamic economic growth, including exhibitions led by "INFDEX", which led very positive and constructive feedback from the National Exhibitors."
INFDEX 2011 is the ideal medium for global and Qatari companies to show off their wares and creativity, with products related to furniture and interior design, lighting, fabrics, textiles, and architecture to be displayed. Hundreds and hundreds of potential customers are expected to attend, from government agencies, to corporate decision makers. The exposure that exhibitors will receive is priceless in itself. "Over 12000 people visited INFDEX last year, and that alone was an increase of 15% from 2009," continued Zarka. "With the response this year, we expect substantially more visitors than last year. INFDEX 2011 is well worth the investment for companies, both global and local, as this is a rare chance to be exposed to such a large customer base at one time."
Similar to last year, INFDEX 2011 will also play host to four awards: Best Innovative Designed Stand, Best Environmental (Green) Stand, Best Use of Booth/Stand Space, and the Best Young Designer of INFDEX 2011. This competition is open to all school and university students, and is a chance to showcase some young talent.
