France to host world premiere of Iran's “Nader and Simin”

TEHRAN, June 8 (MNA) -- Asghar Farhadi’s Golden Bear winner “Nader and Simin, a Separation” will have its world premiere in France tomorrow, said Nasrin Mirshab, the international distributor of the film on Tuesday.

Memento Films is the company that has received the franchise for international distribution of the movie in collaboration with Dreamlab, Mirshab told the Persian service of Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) on Tuesday.

“Nader and Simin, a Separation” will begin with 106 copies in the first week and 40 will be added in the second week, gracing 146 theaters across the country, she added.

This seems to be the largest screening of an Iranian movie in France.

Meanwhile, a Paris theater hosted a special screening of the movie on Tuesday that was attended by Farhadi and actress Leila Hatami.

A portrayal of the break-up of a marriage, “Nader and Simin: a Separation” won a Golden Bear for best film at the Berlin film festival and its cast ensemble received best actor and actress Silver Bears at the event.

Sacher Film, a production and distribution company run by Nanni Moretti, is the Italian distributor of the film.

The film is also scheduled for screening in movie theaters in Germany beginning July 14.
