Yonhap's managing director wins journalism award

SEOUL, June 9 (Yonhap) -- Kim Sung-soo, managing director for Yonhap News Agency, received an outstanding journalism award on Thursday for his contribution to the South Korean press.
The Journalists Federation of Korea awarded Kim with the 2011 Pride of Korean Journalists Grand Prix, along with 11 other journalists. The federation has honored former or active journalists with the annual award since 2005.



Kim, in charge of Yonhap's editorial operations, has previously received a medal from the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade for Yonhap's coverage of the Asia-Europe (ASEM) Summit in Seoul in 2000. He also launched the Japanese and Arabic language news service at Yonhap.
