Belgian festival screening doc on Iran-Iraq war

TEHRAN, June 11 (MNA) -- “Molf-e Gand”, an oral history documentary on the Iran-Iraq war narrated by an Ahvazi citizen, is currently being shown at the Millennium International Documentary Festival in Brussels, Belgium.

“Molf-e Gand” is about an Ahvazi man named Mohammad Ghadirzadeh, whose childhood is lost during the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war.

The entire film was shot in one sequence without any cuts, making it the longest sequence in the history of Iranian cinema.

Mohammad portrays voices, bombings and events which date back to his childhood during the lengthy film. “Molf-e Gand” is a term common in southern Iran meaning foreboding.

The film began screening on June 9 and will have another showing on June 11 in Brussels.

The documentary, distributed by Sheherzad Media International, premiered globally at the Munich International Documentary Film Festival 2010.

Rahmani’s other credits include “White Oil” and “The Zero Degree Orbit”.

His documentary “My Mother, Oak” received an honorable mention in the DOK.horizonte section of the Munich Documentary Film Festival May 2011.
