N. Korea's nominal state head meets with Chinese delegation
SEOUL (Yonhap) - Kim Yong-nam, North Korea's titular head of state, met Sunday with a visiting Chinese delegation in Pyongyang, the North's official media said.
"The current China visit by General Secretary Kim Jong-il was successful," Li Yuanchao, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China's Central Committee, was quoted as saying during the meeting by the (North) Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
Li also said the leaders of the two countries developed China-North Korea cooperative relations to a higher stage, according to the KCNA.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-il made a visit to China from May 20 to 27.
Sunday's meeting was attended by two secretaries of the North's ruling Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), Kim Ki-nam and Kim Yong-il, along with Liu Hongcai, Chinese ambassador to North Korea, the KCNA said.
