The following is a chronological review of major developments related to North Korea from June 9 to June 15, 2011.
June
9 An official from the North's National Defense Commission (NDC) threatens to disclose voice recordings of a secret meeting it had with South Korea in May, during which Seoul allegedly proposed holding a series of inter-Korean summits.
9 A North Korean delegation led by Yang Hyong-sop, vice president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA), returns home from a goodwill visit to Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea.
9 The (North) Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reports that a steering committee of the China-North Korea Economic Trade Zone held meetings in the Chinese provinces of Liaoning and Jilin.
