KEPCO KDN wins 300 bln won solar plant deal

KEPCO Knowledge, Data & Network Co. (KEPCO KDN) said Thursday that it has signed a 300 billion won (US$278 million) deal to build a solar power plant in Arizona, the United States.
Under the deal with U.S. renewable energy developer Matinee Energy Inc., KEPCO KDN will complete a 60-megawatt solar power plant by 2015, the company said in a statement.
KEPCO KDN plans to expand its presence in the U.S., which has a number of aging power facilities, it said.
Unlisted KEPCO KDN is a power information technology solution provider and wholly owned unit of Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO), South Korea's power monopoly.
