Ex-prosecutor says former president treated with courtesy during probe

A former senior prosecutor said Thursday he treated former President Roh Moo-hyun with sufficient courtesy during a high-profile investigation into an alleged corruption scandal.
Roh, who served as the country's president from 2003 to 2008, jumped off a cliff to his death in 2009 amid a widening probe by prosecutors into corruption allegations involving him and his family.
Moon Jae-in, Roh's former chief of staff, said in a recently published book that Lee In-kyu, who directed the investigation on Roh's case, displayed an arrogant attitude, though his way of speaking was polite.
Lee, who later joined a law firm, rejected the allegation and said he was faithful to his duty.
"I tried my best to show my courtesy," Lee said in a phone interview with Yonhap News Agency.
Lee also said the U.S. financial authorities sent his team a lead that suggested Roh's daughter might have bought a house in the United States. He did not elaborate.
