Iranian eulogists meet Supreme Leader
TEHRAN, June 18 (MNA) -- A group of eulogists and cultural figures met with Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Thursday evening.
Veterans along with novices attended the ceremony at the leader’s residence on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Imam Ali (AS).
The leader began speaking about the poetical talents which promise an era of sublime poetry saying, “We will witness an improvement in the field of poetry regarding the talents of novice artists”.
He next pointed to mystical and moral poetry saying that such sublime themes will affect the mind of addressees and will lead to spiritual changes.
The leader called prayers books like Sahifeh Sajjadieh -- a collection of prayers attributed to Imam Sajjad (AS) – as useful sources for poetry to inspire themes for literati to compose poems.
“Ritual poetry will affect the mind of addressees, and will satisfy the mind and spirit of audiences with themes extracted from the Quran or Nahj-ul-Balagha,” he added.
He also stressed on the substitution of novel words and terms and the attention paid to Persian grammar in composing poetry as two crucial elements.
The ceremony was followed by a poetry recitation presented by some of the eulogists in the presence of the leader.
