Afghanistan produces 700 tons of heroin annually: Iran's police official
TEHRAN, June 18 (MNA) – Approximately 700 tons of heroin are produced in Afghanistan annually, Anti-Drug Police Chief Hamid Reza Hosseinabadi said on Saturday.
This high amount of drug production will definitely make serious problems for the regional countries, Hosseinabadi added.
He also said drug smuggling from Afghanistan is increasingly spreading in the region, despite claims made the U.S. and Britain that they are fighting narcotics in the country.
