Former Iranian boxer dies at 66
TEHRAN, June 19 (MNA) -- Former Iranian boxer Abdollah Ghasemi passed away at age 66 on Thursday from a heart attack.
Ghasemi was laid to rest on Saturday in Tehran’s Behesht-e Zahra cemetery.
Family members, boxing officials, and some fans attended the funeral.
Ghasemi claimed a gold medal in the Asian Championships 1971 held in Tehran, Iran.
The Mehr News Agency and the Tehran Times staff offer their heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.
