Iran unemployment rate hits 13.5%
TEHRAN, June 20 (MNA) -- Iran’s unemployment rate was 13.5 percent in the previous Iranian calendar year (ended March 20, 2011), the head of Statistical Center of Iran announced on Sunday.
Fars News Agency quoted Adel Azar as saying that the rate will decrease to 11 percent in the current calendar year.
During the previous Iranian calendar year, the nation’s working population was 25 million, the report added.
