Tehran to host Afghanistan cultural festival
TEHRAN, June 20 (MNA) -- The Niavaran Cultural Center will be hosting Afghanistan’s national cultural festival from June 21 to 26.
Artworks created by over 40 renowned Afghan artists and cultural figures will go on display during the exhibition in different sections, including painting, drawing and carpet weaving.
Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini, Afghanistan’s deputy culture minister Din Mohammad Rashed Mubarez, Afghanistan ambassador to Tehran Obaidullah Obaid, and several other Iranian and Afghan officials will attend the opening ceremony on June 21.
The festival will also display Afghanistan’s regional costumes and foods during the event. Poetry nights and screening Afghan films will take place on the sidelines of the event.
The festival is cosponsored by the ECO Cultural Institute and the Afghanistan Embassy in Iran.
