London hosting exhibition of Persian art
TEHRAN, June 20 (MNA) -- Iran’s Cultural Office in London is home to an exhibition of Persian art by London-based Iranian artist Maryam Mirzaii.
Attended by cultural attaché Ali-Mohammad Helmi and a group of Iranian and English cultural officials, the exhibition opened on Saturday, the Persian service of IRNA reported on Sunday.
Featuring illumination, miniature and gol-o-morgh (a unique style of Persian painting featuring bird and floral motifs in different colors), the exhibition is arranged to introduce the rich art of Iran to the Britons, Helmi said at the opening ceremony.
Artist Mirzaii also regarded the show a good chance for visitors to become acquainted with Persian art and culture.
The exhibit will be running for 11 days.
