12 killed in U.S. missile strike in Pakistan

Islamabad, Sept 12 PPI - At least 12 people, including women and children, besides few Taleban militants were killed Friday in north-west Pakistan in a United States missile strike.

Eye witnesses said it struck a home before dawn near Miranshah, main town in North
Waziristan tribal agency on Afghan border.

There is growing concern in Pakistan over unilateral U.S. military action. The
missile was fired by a U.S. drone flying overhead.

The missile landed in a house in Tol Khel area on the outskirts of Miranshah,
eyewitnesses said. "The pre-dawn strike destroyed the house."

It was fifth cross-border attack since beginning of this month allegedly carried out
by U.S. forces. On Monday, at least 14 people were killed and 15 injured in a
suspected US missile strike in North Waziristan.
