AZERBAIJAN`S NEWLY APPOINTED AMBASSADOR TO ICELAND PRESENTS HIS CREDENTIALS TO

Baku,12 September,(AzerTAj) - Azerbaijan`s newly appointed Ambassador to Iceland Fakhraddin Gurbanov has presented his credentials to the country`s President Olafur Ragnar Grimsson.

During the conversation Mr. Gurbanov briefed the Iceland`s President on ongoing
processes in his country and the region wholly, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and its
grave consequences, Azerbaijan`s activities within international organizations and
other issues.
The Ambassador expressed his confidence that bilateral relations between the two
countries would further continue to enhance.
Mr. Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, in turn, said relations between Azerbaijan and Iceland
serve welfare of both countries` peoples.
Prospects for cooperation between the two countries were also discussed during the
meeting.
As part of the visit, Mr. Gurbanov held some meetings in Iceland`s Foreign Ministry
to discuss issues of mutual interest.
Fakhraddin Gurbanov also serves as Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to UK and the Northern
Ireland.
