ICI PAINTS MALAYSIA MOVES TO FOSTER STRONGER BONDS WITH BUSINESS PARTNERS

KUALA LUMPUR, July 6 (Bernama) -- With the aim of strengthening relations
with its business partners, ICI Paints (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd recently organised
a treasure hunt.

ICI Paints Malaysia is part of Dutch-based company AkzoNobel, the largest
global paints and coatings company which is also a major producer for specialty
chemicals.

"This year, we decided to organise a treasure hunt to highlight the essence
of teamwork. These are vital ingredients I believe, will strengthen our
partnerships and enable us to scale even greater heights," said ICI Paints
Malaysia Managing Director, Goh Cheok Weng in a statement Wednesday.

Last year, the company scaled and conquered Mount Kinabalu with its business
partners in an exercise that challenged and tested the endurance limits of
participants.

Last weekend, a two-day treasure hunt saw participants in 19 cars going
through Petaling Jaya, Nilai, Seremban and finally finishing in Malacca.

"A treasure hunt is an ideal way for people to unwind from their hectic
lifestyle and enjoy the outdoors. Besides that, the treasure hunt also calls for
great teamwork and skills, which is something we at AkzoNobel truly value," Goh
said.

During the hunt, he also led the team's community efforts by bringing joy to
a shelter home in Seremban by contributing groceries and repainting the place.

Unlike a conventional treasure hunt, Goh asserts that the weekend event
carried a more important purpose than just team building for AkzoNobel employees
and its business partners.

The hunt is also part of AkzoNobel's initiative to show its appreciation to
business partners for their continuous support given to the organisation.

"At AkzoNobel, we are committed to adding colour to people’s lives. It is
more than just aesthetics.

"It is also about instilling wholesomeness to the lives that we live,
challenging ourselves to live with a purpose and making a difference in our
lifetime, and to those in need.

"We wanted our partners to see that and join us in practising these core
values," he said.
