FHI SIGNS MOU WITH TAN CHONG TO ASSEMBLE SUBARU SUVs IN MALAYSIA

SINGAPORE, July 6 (Bernama) -- Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd (FHI) has entered
into a memorandum of understanding with Tan Chong Group to assemble Subaru
compact sports utility vehicles (SUVs) in Malaysia.

An initial assembly of 5,000 Subaru SUVs will begin in October 2012 at Tan
Chong Motor Assemblies Sdn Bhd, said a statement here Wednesday.

The SUVs will be marketed in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia through Tan
Chong Group's sales and distribution network, it added.

FHI, which established a strong partnership with Tan Chong since 1987 when
it was appointed the Subaru distributor in Singapore, aims to expand its sales
in Asean by leveraging on the local assembly of Subaru vehicles.

The statement also said the sales and distribution network of Subaru
vehicles spanned across Asean countries that included Cambodia, Southern China,
Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
