MODERATE EARTHQUAKE HITS WEST MANADO, INDONESIA
KUALA LUMPUR, July 8 (Bernama) -- A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of
5.6 on the Richter scale hit Minahassa Peninsula in Sulawesi at 1.22pm Friday.
The Malaysian Meterological Department said in a statement that the
epicentre was 281km west of Manado, Indonesia and 692km Southeast of Tawau,
Sabah.
It said the quake did not pose any tsunami threat.
