RESILIENCE THEME FOR CHOGM CONFERENCE IN PERTH
MELBOURNE, July 9 (Bernama) -- The theme for the Commonwealth Heads of
Government Meeting (CHOGM) to be held in Perth in October is "Building National
Resilience, Building Global Resilience".
Prime Minister Julia Gillard said Australia will use CHOGM 2011 to address
the challenges of food security, sustainable development and natural resource
management.
The biennial international meeting will be held in Perth from October 28 to
30.
It will bring together leaders from up to 53 Commonwealth nations and about
3,000 delegates.
About 1,000 representatives from the media are also expected to attend.
