MALAYSIA WILL CONTINUE TO ASSIST SUDAN IN DEVELOPING HUMAN CAPITAL

KUALA LUMPUR, July 9 (Bernama) -- Malaysia will continue assisting Sudan in
developing human capital and capacity building under the Malaysian Technical
Cooperation Programme (MTCP).

According to a statement from the Foreign Ministry, 844 civil servants from
Sudan had benefited under the (MTCP) so far.

The statement said the Foreign Ministers of both countries had also agreed
to hold Joint Commission Meeting (JCM) in October or November to enable the
relevant agencies to work closely.

Foreign Minister Anifah Aman who visited Sudan on July 7 and 8,
had met his counterpart Ali Ahmed Karti and Sudan president Salva Kiir Mayardit.

Ministers from both countries believe there was ample room for both
countries to improve cooperation in various sectors, including technology
transfer and human resource.

The statement added that Ali Karti had stated that students from Sudan
regard Malaysia as their most popular destination to pursue their studies.
