Irannian MPs drop motion calling for president to be questioned

TEHRAN, July 11 (MNA) - The parliamentary motion calling for the Iranian president to be questioned in the Majlis has been cancelled because 30 of the 100 MPs who had signed the motion have withdrawn their signatures, it was announced on Sunday.

According to the Constitution, the president must appear in the parliament to answer MPs’ questions when at least one fourth of the lawmakers sign a motion summoning him, but now the number of signatures falls short of threshold.
