FANATICAL SUPPORTERS FLOOD STADIUM TO WATCH GUNNERS TRAIN

KUALA LUMPUR, July 13 (Bernama) -- Arsenal's warm up session at the National Stadium ahead of their friendly against the Malaysian national team Wednesday, saw almost 7,000 fanatical fans turn up to watch the Gunners train.

The fans, from as far as Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand, came as early as 4pm even though the warm up session was only due to start at 7pm.

The training session lasted about an hour.

After that, the Gunners circled the stadium and lobbed mementos in the stands much to the delight of the fans.

One of the fans, Robert Heng, 26, said it was a dream come true to see his favourite players in person, as before this, he could only watch them on television.

Another diehard Arsenal fan, Lim Kwan Weng, 27, said though he was confident Arsenal would win Wednesday, nevertheless, he hoped Harimau Malaya would put up a good fight.

"However, I will still support the national team. I think our Harimau Malaya will do well based on their track record of late," he said.

Kick-off is at 8.45pm Wednesday at the same venue.
