KELANTAN AND SOUTHERN THAILAND TO COOPERATE IN TOURISM
KOTA BAHARU (Kelantan, Malaysia), July 13 (Bernama) -- Tourist agents from southern Thailand and Malaysia's northeast state of Kelantan will meet here on July 18 to discuss ways to increase cooperation between them.
Twenty-one agents from Narathiwat, Pattani and Yala would discuss
joint programmes with 25 counterparts of theirs in the state.
Kelantan Tourism Malaysia director Sulaiman Ismail said Wednesday that Kelantan would promote more than 24 destinations in Kota Baharu while Thailand would introduce more interesting spots in the southern region.
Apart from its beautiful environment, Kelantan offers silver and other handicrafts and textile creations, among others.
"And Kelantan is also well known for its delicious cakes," Sulaiman said.
"We welcome Thais to Kelantan, a state full with courteous people with customs that are quite similar to that of Muslim Thais," he said.
