MUKHRIZ URGES M'SIAN BUSINESS COMMUNITY TO EMBRACE GLOBAL COMPUTE NETWORK
KUALA LUMPUR, July 13 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian business community has been urged to embrace the global compute network (GCN) to grow their export markets and seek the best deals as well as lowest cost.
The GCN is a global platform link that enables all kinds of business transactions, models and arrangements on a global scale, forming its own eco system acting as the engine of trade internationally.
Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir said Southeast Asia alone represents a huge market of 590 million people with a total gross domestic product (GDP) of US$1.4 trillion that the Malaysian business community can tap into.
"The business community in Malaysia needs to strengthen strategic
alliances and work together in identifying avenues to enhance commercial collaborations.
"Asia as we know it, will lead the next growth phase. Malaysia is now ready to address this dynamic growth in the region," he told reporters at the launch of The Star Anise Cloud Computing here, Wednesday.
Star Anise Cloud Computing is a public cloud introduced by Anise Asia Cloud Sdn Bhd, that will be deployed via Joyent's premier cloud technology and be operated based on its proven standard operating services.
Joyent is a global cloud computing software and service provider that offers an integrated suite of software and services, designed specifically for the needs of service providers and enterprises to deliver cloud services to clients or within enterprises.
Muhkriz said cloud computing allows local companies to get to markets faster and further around the globe, besides bringing the world market to Malaysia.
"This launch also shows that our technology companies have the capability to advance to the next level and are able to put together a powerful business model such as the Star Anise Cloud," he added.
