Iran calls on UN to help it in drug campaign
TEHRAN, July 25 (MNA) – Iran’s Anti-Drug Police Chief Hamid Reza Hosseinabadi has called on the United Nations to support the Islamic Republic in its campaign against illicit drugs.
As a country which ranks first in wars on illegal drugs, Iran does not have the necessary equipment, Hosseinabadi told the Fars news agency.
For instance, police helicopters need spare parts, which are not available as Iran is under sanctions, he said. “Thus, the UN should help lift these sanctions.”
