Iranian Navy’s presence in open seas uplifts nations: Leader

BANDAR ABBAS, July 25 (MNA) -- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has said that the Iranian Navy’s strong presence in the open seas is a source of hope and inspiration for the world’s nations.

The Leader made the remarks on Sunday during a speech following his visit to an Iranian naval base in the Persian Gulf port city of Bandar Abbas.

“This presence has intimidated the enemy and has put it in a quandary since the strong presence of Iranian naval units in the open seas is inspiring and heartening for nations,” he stated.

The presence of the Iranian naval forces in the Bab el-Mandeb, the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Suez Canal delivers a message of dignity to the world, he added.

In addition, the Leader addressed a number of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps personnel based in Bandar Abbas on Sunday, telling them that the expansion of the Iranian naval forces’ presence in the open seas will help the Iranian Navy become a strategic force.

Avoiding discord is a national duty

The Leader also held a meeting with thousands of Iranian Navy commanders and personnel based in Bandar Abbas and their families on Saturday night, in which he said that avoiding discord is a national and religious duty.

He advised the people, officials, political groups, and religious figures to remain vigilant in the face of the enemy’s plots to weaken the country’s national sovereignty.

The enemy uses many methods to create dissension, such as promoting drug addiction and fanning the flames of internal disputes, he added.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he said the presence of Iranian navy fleets in the Persian Gulf, the Sea of Oman, and international waters shows Iranians’ strong resolve to maintain the country’s dignity and national sovereignty.
