Iranian vocalist Aqili to perform with Norwegian Radio Orchestra in November
TEHRAN, July 25 (MNA) -- Iranian vocalist Salar Aqili will be performing with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra during a program in Oslo in November.
He will be singing a selection of traditional Iranian compositions by Javid Afsari-Rad focusing on Iranian dastgahi music.
Dastgah in Iranian music is a scale of notes, their featured tones, and an associated group of traditional melodies that constitute the basis for an improvisational performance.
The concert will be a one-night performance based on Rumi’s poetry.
Aqili gave his last performance with the Dastan ensemble last month at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall.
