‘U.S. not able to put out Muslims’ flame of rage’
TEHRAN, July 26 (MNA) – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani has said that the United States is not able to prevent the spread of Islamic awakening through employing “cheap and mean” political tactics.
“The Americans are trying to engage people’s attention with political games in order to put out Muslims’ rage,” Larijani said on Monday.
“But their efforts are futile because this event (Islamic awakening) is alive and developing, so they cannot discourage people from pursuing their rights through employing cheap and mean political tactics,” he said.
The Iranian Parliament speaker added that the Islamic awakening is an “original and popular” development, so regional rulers and the White House could not contain protesters through formulating hasty theories and sending troops to the region where they have been experiencing popular uprisings.
Commenting on the political situation in Bahrain, Larijani said the Westerners first tried to suggest that it is a conflict between Shias and Sunnis, but their plan failed and they were forced to hatch another plot and send military forces to Bahrain to oppress the people.
“The U.S. hands out political candy to dishearten them from their struggle,” said Larijani. “Bahraini people need a democratic government. Is it a wrong demand based on modern logic?”
