MOH donates 169 mln kip for flood victims
VIENTIANE,JULY 27.(KPL)- Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Inlavanh Keobounphanh presented relief aid worth 169 million kip to Director of Borikhamsay Provincial Labour and Social Welfare Khamla Oummaly to further present to flood victims in the province.
The donation will be distributed in Borikhanh, Parksanh, Viengthong and Thaphabath districts. The four were reportedly most hard-hit by the flooding.
The handover ceremony took place at the Borikhamsay Provincial Administration Office on July 20.
Between June 24-26, typhoon Haima hit Sayaboury, Xiengkhouang, Vientiane province, Borikhamsay and Khammouane bringing torrential rains and flood which caused a damage of hundreds of billion kips and claimed several lives.
On the same day, the Deputy Minister of Health visited and met villagers in Songkhone Mai, Borikhanh district, where she encouraged the locals to use safe water in order to prevent themselves from disease infection, especially in the aftermath of the flooding.
