PM AND CABINET MINISTERS TAKE ERL RIDE TO ATTEND EVENT IN KL
PUTRAJAYA, July 28 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Najib Razak and his cabinet ministers Wednesday took a ride on the Express Rail Link (ERL) train from Putrajaya to attend an event in Kuala Lumpur.
After attending a cabinet meeting, Najib and the ministers went on a bus from the Prime Minister's Office to the Putrajaya Sentral station to catch the ERL train to KL Sentral for the launching of the Fly Jalur Gemilang Campaign in conjunction with the country's 54th Independence Day and Malaysia Day celebrations.
Najib and his delegation who arrived at the Putrajaya Sentral station at 2.10pm, were welcomed by about 1,000 people who had waiting there since 11am to get up close to the prime minister.
The delegation which also included Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and Information Communication and Culture Minister Dr Rais Yatim spent some time exchanging greetings and shaking hands with the waiting crowd.
During the 16-minute ride to Kuala Lumpur, Najib watched at close range the running of the ERL train which was driven by Rushdi Hamzah.
