Savannakhet is devising plan for Corridor development
VIENTIANE,JULY 28.(KPL)- Savannakhet focuses on devising strategic plan on development in three districts Kaysone Phomvihane, Phin and Sepon.
The three are located along the East-West Economic Corridor of the Greater Mekong Sub-region.
The strategic plan is designed for improving basic infrastructure and capacity building for local authorities.
Recently, the province is drafting the strategic plan and it is expected to complete early 2012, according to Deputy Governor of Savannakhet Khampheuy Phanthachone.
He told the midterm meeting on the technical assistance of the Asian Development Bank for urban development along the East West Economic Corridor by 2030 which was held at the Provincial Administration Office last Friday.
The plan is aimed to fulfill the improvement of waste treatment system, flooding management system, roads, sanitary garbage landfill and logistics centre in Kaysone Phomvihane district; road improvement, water supply system, market and garbage disposal in Phin district and road construction, market, garbage disposal and logistics centre in Sepon district.
