Mekong civilization to be represented in Luang Prabang

VIENTIANE,JULY 28.(KPL)- Luang Prabang province are preparing for the sixth Mekong civilization exhibition which is going to take place at the Luang Prabang Museum on August 17-mid-November.
Mrs. Vanpheng Keopaya Head of the Luang Prabang museum and also coordinator for the programme of museum cooperation in Southeast Asia (MuSEA) said that the exhibition is aimed at ensuring sustainable promotion of culture heritage in the World Heritage Cities in the Southeast-Asian region.
Presently, the preparation for the exhibition has been completed by 60 per cent and it is expected to be over in two or three weeks, said Mrs. Vanpheng.
She added, the festival would draw participants from four countries of Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and Sweden.
The exhibition will display 200 paintings and nine films from Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia, three from each, will be screened.
The exhibition is designed to represent culture and fine traditions, way of life of the people in the Mekong countries and promote the friendship relations and cooperation, especially in cultural area, among the four countries.
