TEMAN HELPS ENTREPRENEURS PENETRATE INTERNATIONAL MARKET

KOTA BAHARU (Kelantan, Malaysia), July 30 (Bernama) -- The National
Agribusiness Terminal (Teman) will become a platform and catalyst for
entrepreneurs to penetrate the international market, said International Trade
and Industry Minister Mustapa Mohamed.
He said the RM142 million (US$47.33 million) terminal would not only become
a collection centre for local products but would also help entrepreneurs expand
their businesses and improve their products to meet international standards.
The International Trade and Industry Ministry will also be involved in
regulating potential products for overseas markets, he told reporters after
opening the Centre of Collection and Distribution one-stop centre for the Groom
Big Programme at Teman here today.
Situated in a new township of Tunjung near here, Teman housed 1,420
Bumiputera companies involved in food, beverages and furniture industries on a
20.8ha site.
Mustapa said the Federal Complex here would be shifted to Tunjung as the
state capital was becoming congested while construction of the state Fire and
Rescue Department, Lands and Mines Department and court complex
there was underway.
Mustapa said the federal government had so far spent about RM300 million
(US$100 million) for the development of Kelantan.
