CALL TO USE SABAH'S FLORA, FAUNA TO DRAW MORE TOURISTS

KENINGAU (Sabah, Malaysia), Aug 1 (Bernama) -- East Malaysia state of Sabah Assistant Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment Ellron Alfred Angin has asked tour agencies to utilise the state's rich flora and fauna as attractions to draw more tourists.

He said they could conduct their business based on the concept of
eco-tourism.

"Sabah is rich in flora and fauna which can help to drive the state's tourism industry to greater heights," he said at a goodwill dinner in conjunction with Warriors Day at the Interior Tourism Centre here Sunday night.

At the event, Ellron handed over RM10,000 (US$3,392) to the Association of Upper Interior Tour Operators for tourism promotion in the interior areas.
