US SPECIAL REP TO MUSLIM COMMUNITIES VISITS MALAYSIA
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 1 (Bernama) -- The United States' Special Representative to Muslim Communities, Farah Pandith, will make a three-day visit to Malaysia from Tuesday.
Pandith will meet senior Malaysian government officials, politicians, entrepreneurs and members of civil society, according to a statement from the US embassy Monday.
"She will also visit the Adni Islamic School (in Ampang, Selangor) and host a webchat bringing together Adni Islamic School students and students from East Malaysia state of Sabah," it said.
Pandith, the first special representative to Muslim communities, has held the post since June 2009.
Her tasks include carrying out dialogue and forging partnerships with Muslims across the globe based on mutual interest and mutual respect.
