UPDATE: PM NAJIB DISCHARGED FROM HOSPITAL
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 3 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Najib Razak was discharged Wednesday from the Kuala Lumpur Hospital where he underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee which he had injured in a sporting event.
The Prime Minister, who was accompanied by his wife, Rosmah Mansor, left the hospital at about 12.30pm.
Najib, looking relaxed in green short sleeves, waved to the cameramen and photographers who had waited for him in the compound of the royal ward.
Health Director-General Dr Hasan Abdul Rahman said in a press statement that the medical experts who performed the surgery on Monday were satisfied with the operation and the progress made by Najib.
"The Prime Minister who returned home this afternoon to rest will continue rehabilitation sessions for several days more," he said.
Dr Hasan said that Najib was expected to resume work next week.
