YOUNG MALAYSIAN BUSINESS PEOPLE TOLD TO VENTURE ABROAD

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 5 (Bernama) -- Young Malaysian business people have been
asked to expand their markets overseas and make good use of Malaysia's
international connections with such bodies as the Organisation of Islamic
Cooperation (OIC) and the Commonwealth to tap into business opportunities there.

The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia
(ACCCIM) executive advisor Soong Siew Hoong said that though there was
assistance available, especially from the government, the opportunities were not
fully utilised.

"The domestic markets are too crowded and we must look to the international
markets. Malaysia has the connections; so we must use these opportunities to tap
into markets in these countries.

"At the same time, we need to constantly improve our products in terms of
quality, price competitiveness and delivery in order to compete in the open
market," Soong, who is also ACCCIM's former secretary-general, he told reporters

here Friday.
