ASEAN RESOURCES HANDBOOK TO HELP AUSSIE INVESTORS LAUNCHED
MELBOURNE, Aug 6 (Bernama) -- The Australia Malaysia Business Council (AMBC)
has launched an Asean Resources Handbook.
The handbook, produced with the support of the Victorian Department of
Industry Innovation and Regional Development, will be an invaluable resource for
organisations seeking business intelligence in Asean countries, AMBC Victoria
chapter president, Mike Anderson said at its launch this week.
He said the handbook would also help AMBC members understand the
implications of multi-lateral and bilateral FTAs and the benefit and potential
of these agreements for Australian businesses and investors.
AMBC Victoria vice-president Scott Anson, who did most of the work in
compiling the handbook, said with about 600 million people in the Asean region,
Malaysia could be the gateway to a huge market.
"We believe Malaysia is strategically positioned as a significant business
hub for the the Asean region,'' he added.
He said the handbook gave a profile of each Asean member country and it
would be a valuable and comprehensive guide for investors and businesses wanting
an overview of the region.
The handbook would be continually updated and expanded.
