Tehran-Cairo ties a top priority: Egypt’s presidential candidate
TEHRAN, Aug. 7 (MNA) – Egyptian presidential hopeful Abdullah al-Ashaal says promoting ties between Tehran and Cairo is a top priority.
In an interview with Azzaman newspaper, Al-Ashaal said, “I will place a high priority on Iran-Egypt relations, if I win the election.”
It was not ‘logical’ that Egypt had had relations with the U.S. and Israel but not with Iran for 30 years, he noted.
Al-Ashaal is a former aide to a former Egyptian foreign minister and former ambassador.
